EQUINE PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR IN CAMARGUE
18th - 20th May 2018
Would you like to accompany me during my next photography tour?
I am inviting you and other photographers from all over the world for a great weekend adventure - an Equine Photography Tour in Camargue!
ABOUT OUR TOUR - Camargue horses, sometimes known as the White Horses of the Sea, are iconic of the south of France, and a common dream for equine photographers from across the world.
The main purpose of this event is to give photographers the chance to capture the spectacular Camargue horses in their natural environment.
Participating in this tour is a great opportunity to build your own portfolio and to improve your photography skills through the opportunities which I hope to provide you with! During this exceptional weekend I will share with you several of my favourite, selected places to photograph horses. I want to give you the privilege to capture a variety of breathtaking images.
PHOTO SESSIONS - Please bring with you a DSLR camera. Conditions mostly allow for shooting with a lens 70-200mm. Longer or wider lens also can be useful. Don’t forget to also bring a laptop or other device to safely store your photos from your memory cards. During this weekend we planned for you 4 spectacular photo sessions - 2 sunrises and 2 sunsets locations with different backdrop and acction to photograph, including spectacular stallions combat or herds running through the water. Respecting the work of ourselves and fellow photographers, please be careful during the sessions to do not get into each other’s frames. Please note that this tour is not a workshop. The hosting photographer is not obligated to coach participants; I lead the sessions and organise the models and locations. Everyone works toward their own photography goals, and I encourage ideas and suggestions during the sessions.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE - Our first photo session will be scheduled for the afternoon of the 18th of May. Please plan your arrival to Montpellier airport or bus/train station in early hours the same day or the day before if needed. Your pick-up will be arranged from Montpellier or Arles. Our last session will be scheduled for the morning of the 20th of May. Please book your departure from Montpellier or Arles airport or bus/train station for the early afternoon or evening 20th of May. Your transport to the airport or bus/train station will be arranged for this day. If you need to come earlier or stay longer, please do not hesitate to ask me for a help to arrange accommodation or transport directions.
ACCOMMODATION - The price for this tour includes 2 nights starting from night of the 18th of May. Our participants will be accomodated in a beautiful resort with access to the pool, in double rooms with single beds. If you require a private room, an extra payment will be required.
MEALS - Please note that the price of the tour does not include alimentation/meal expenses. We will visit restaurants or bistro bars for our lunch, and will enjoy breakfast and supper at our hotel, or at a nearby restaurant. Average prices for meals in France starts from 10€ for small meal, to 25€ for a big meal. Every participant must pay for their own meals - we do not split the bills.
TRAVELING - Your travel between hotel and shooting locations will be arranged. Because of limited space in our van, please limit your luggage to one small carry-on luggage while travelling to photo session locations.
WEATHER - Spring in Camargue is a great time time to photograph horses. The average temperature in May during the day is 20*C and 10*C during the nights. Over the past few years, the weather across Europe has been very strange, which makes it difficult to predict. For this reason, please be prepared for rainy days as much as for hot and sunny. This region is famous for its constant winds. We will photograph regardless of weather conditions. Remember also to bring with you a spray against insects / mosquitoes!
FREE TIME - Our photo sessions will be scheduled for sunrises and sunsets. While some may decide to rest during the day when a sunrise is planned, I encourage you to get out to discover some of the local historical sites. You can always sleep when you get back home!!. On one of our tour days, you may want to come with us to Arles, wander about the town or maybe take part in a two hour horseback trail ride to the Mediterranean sea which is included in the tour price.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - The currency in France is the euro €. Electric voltage is 220V, 50 Hz, the electric plug has two round pins, so participants from other continents might need a converter/adapter. I recommend purchasing travel insurance. In case of any health issue, please inform me before booking the tour.
